Presenter's Biography:

Sindy Wong, Partner, Rita Ku & Ser

Sindy is a partner of RKS, and her practice is all about families.

With over a decade of experience, Sindy advises high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, as well as multi-generational family enterprises, on a wide range of family-related matters. Her practice encompasses both contentious and non-contentious matters, addressing the diverse and often emotionally charged needs of her clients. She is well-versed in all aspects of family matters, including: -

1. Matrimonial matters: divorce, cross-border and jurisdictional issues, financial disputes, custody and children arrangements, adoption, and surrogacy.
2. Private wealth and estate planning: trust / PTC advisory, family offices, family governance, nuptial agreements, and Wills and probate.

Non-Contentious (Private wealth preservation and estate planning)

Sindy is known for her pragmatic approach, helping clients navigate unique life challenges and family dynamics. She develops bespoke solutions that align with her clients' needs and goals, offering practical strategies and sustainable, holistic solutions.

Sindy works closely with individuals and families, as well as financial institutions, trustee companies and family offices, on matters relating to wealth preservation, succession and trust planning, ensuring smooth and sustainable transfer and operations of family businesses. She also advises on pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, deeds of family arrangements, and family constitutions.

Contentious (divorce, cross-border issues, financial disputes, custody and children arrangements, adoption, and surrogacy)

While Sindy is a fierce advocate for her clients, she also prioritizes settlement to foster family harmony and support effective co-parenting. This dual approach ensures that whether clients seek robust legal representation or compassionate guidance, Sindy is dedicated to guiding clients through the complexities of family issues while prioritizing their well-being.

Sindy has handled a number of landmark family cases in Hong Kong, including SPH v SA (formerly known as SA) - (forum, nuptial agreements) [2014] 3 HKLRD 497 where the Court of Final Appeal confirmed the effects of nuptial agreements in Hong Kong. Many of her cases involve cross border HK/ PRC disputes, complex issues relating to third-party interests, trusts, corporate governance and jurisdictional matters.

Sindy is committed to exploring all dispute resolution avenues, including mediation.

Sindy is a TEP, a family mediator and a qualified collaborative practitioner in Hong Kong. She has been recognized in the Private Client Global Elite Directory (2023 to 2026), as well as by Chambers & Partners (2024 to 2026) and Doyle's Guide (2025).
