Presenter's Biography:

Ms. Dou has obtained her qualifications of Certified Public Accountant (HKICPA - CPA) and Barrister of the High Court after working in PricewaterhouseCoopers (Financial Services Stream) and Cheng Huan QC SC Chambers respectively. Ms. Dou has worked in the financial markets for over 18 years with experience in dealing with reputable clients which include large financial institutions and listed companies.

In her legal career, Ms. Dou has held the Legal Counsel position in various large financial institutions and a Main Board listed company. She has also held the Legal Counsel position in a reputable Fintech company which issued a spectrum of originally minted cryptocurrencies to the market through blockchains.

Ms. Dou is one of the very few barristers and accountants who truly has hands-on experience in issuing originally minted cryptocurrencies to the market through blockchains.

Objective:

This course shall analyse criminal and civil cases involving Cryptocurrency and Virtual Assets, covering the nature of cryptocurrency, the relevant injunctions and trust issues in courts. This course shall also outline the licensing regimes of HKMA and SFC relevant to cryptocurrency and virtual assets.
